Greater Anglia is progressively rolling out mobile tickets across its services. You can now buy One Way and Day Return tickets up to 10 minutes before your train departure.
This convenient way to buy tickets is currently available for journeys to and from Tottenham Hale and Bishops Stortford from Roydon, Harlow Mill, Sawbridgeworth, Stansted Mountfitchet, Stansted Airport, Elsenham, Newport, Audley End, Great Chesterford, Whittlesford Parkway and Shelford.
In addition, Advance Purchase tickets are available on selected routes. Currently, you are able to take advantage of a mobile ticket if you are opting for an Advance ticket on:
- the Mainline service between Norwich and London Liverpool Street,
- connecting stations on branch lines from Great Yarmouth, Cromer/Sheringham, Lowestoft, Felixstowe and Harwich, Clacton on Sea and Walton on Naze, as well as Ely via Cambridge to London.
The app will automatically provide you with a mobile ticket if it is available. If not, you can still buy the ticket and collect it using ticket on departure. The mobile ticket is easier and more convenient though. It is sent to your smartphone immediately after purchase.
How do I use my mobile ticket.
All you need to do is activate your ticket on the day of travel. If you're starting your journey at Tottenham Hale or Bishops Stortford you need to scan your barcode on the station ticket barrier scanner. If you're starting your journey at any of the other stations listed then present it to the on train staff, or scan your M ticket on the barrier at Tottenham Hale or Bishops Stortford.
